Our Investment Criteria
We buy small businesses in many different industries, but we will not consider those selling or engaged in morally objectionable or controversial activities (e.g., tobacco).
Location
We prefer businesses based in (Western) Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom but we will consider those based elsewhere in Europe and the Americas, provided the geopolitical situation in the area is relatively stable and foreign investors are welcome.
Stake
While we prefer to acquire a business outright, we are also open to acquiring minority or majority positions with the right partner, especially if the founder or operator wishes to remain involved in the business.
Metrics
Target businesses generate between $500,000 and $2,000,000 in annual revenue, are comfortably profitable and cash flow positive, are owned by someone who will commit to a transitionary period, and will consider a (significant) vendor financing component in a sale.
